Jack: Come on, Laura. Let's go. I can't wait to hit the beach!
Laura: Wait, Jack. Did you put on your sunscreen?
Jack: No, I don't need sunscreen. I want to get a tan.
Laura: But you don't want to get a sunburn, do you?
Jack: Of course not. I don't want to look like a lobster!
Laura: Then use sunscreen. You can still get a tan, and you won't run the risk of damaging your skin.
Jack: OK. I'll put some on when we get to the beach.
Laura: Put some on now. You need to apply it at least 30 minutes before you go out in the sun.
Jack: OK.

Laura: You could try one of these too.
Jack: What is it?
Laura: It's a UV wristband. Expose it to the sun and it turns purple. Then put it on your wrist at the same time you apply sunscreen.
Jack: What does it do?
Laura: It turns brown when it's time to put on more sunscreen.
Jack: Cool.
Laura: And when the color turns to cream, it's time to get out of the sun.
Jack: That's certainly better than waiting until you're burned!
Laura: It is. But I'm still planning to stay in the shade at the beach.
Jack: Then I'll put the beach umbrella in the car!
