JC: Patients can't see what a dentist is doing in their mouths. All they can see are scary-looking instruments. And then there is the drill and the terrible, high-pitched noise it makes. JC: The best way to prevent dental problems is to take good care of your own teeth. Brush your teeth after eating, and more importantly, use dental floss after every meal. It's also important to go to the dentist for a routine checkup every three to six months.
