Daniel Craig From Stage to Screen

Craig later graduated from London's premier academy, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. In 1992, he made his professional debut in the film The Power of One. He kept busy over the next 14 years, taking on over 50 roles and amassing an impressive resume.

The Blonde Bond

One of those roles caught the eye of movie producer Barbara Broccoli, who had just begun looking for someone to replace Pierce Brosnan as James Bond. Broccoli said that when she saw Craig on the screen, she saw her Bond staring back at her.

Though she was convinced, Craig wasn't so sure. He had already earned the reputation as a serious, credible actor, and he knew that taking on the role of Bond could be a gamble. Craig accepted the part, though, and the gamble paid off as his first Bond film, Casino Royale, earned $594,239,066, becoming the highest-grossing Bond film in the franchise.
