Conversation A
Lora: Let's go through the drive-thru at Mcdonald's today.
Jack: Why?
Lora: Because it's July 24.
Jack: So?
Lora: It's National Drive-Thru Day!
Jack: You're kidding.
Lora: No, I'm not.
Just think how much more hectic our lives would be without drive-thrus.
Jack: I suppose so. I use the ATM in the drive-through at the bank a lot.
Lora: Me too. But did you know there's a drive-thru convenience store in Missouri? And there is a drive-thru check-in at Hawaiian Airlines in Hawaii.
Jack: That's crazy!
Lora: It is. You can even get married at a drive-thru chapel in Las Vegas.
B: No thanks. That's one thing you should get out of the car to do!
Conversation B at the fast-food driver-thru
Jack: I thought drive-thrus were supposed to be fast. We've been over here over five minutes, and we haven't even order yet.
Lora: That's because the guy in the car ahead of us is asking too many questions.
Jack: Either that or ordering for a family of 10!
Lora: People need to use good manners at a drive-thru. It's for fast service. If you have lots of questions or making a big order, go inside.
Jack: Yes! And at banks, driver-throughs are not the place to discuss banking problems.
Lora: We should write a book on drive-thru manners!
Jack: Yes, but let's order lunch first. I'm starving, and it's finally our turn!
