Danica Patric

Success in the world of racing

As a child, Danica Patric discovered a need for speed! Like many little girls, Danica grew up playing dolls. But at the age of 10, she took a different path from most other tween girls. Danica started racing go-carts and discovered her life's passion.

"Never look back"

Her love for racing probably came as no surprise to her mon and dad. They first met at a race where he was a driver and she was a mechanic. Danica's dad taught Danica everything he knew about racing. He also gave her important advice:
"Never look back," he said, "because the race is always in front of you!" Taking his words to heart, Danica began racing go-carts and never looked back.


A winning beginning

After winning 79 percent of her go-cart races in 1996, 14-year-old Danica began looking for bigger challenges. Two years later, she moved to England where she began racing cars. All the whild, Danica never forgot her goal of winning the Indianapolis (Indy) 500.
