The 2010 Taipei International Flora Expo

A plant-lover's dream comes true

Whether you love plants or just appreciate their benefits, you'll enjoy this special flora exposition. From now until late April 2011, Taipei is hosting the 2010 Taipei International Flora Expo.

Enjoying the expo
The expo area consists of four beautiful parks, totaling over 900,000 square meters. The 14 pavilions and building in these parks give visitors many opportunities to enjoy nature's beauty indoors. Live shows and films will feature art, culture and the natural world.

The expo will be both exciting and educational for people. A sea of flowers - 22,000 square meters of colorful blooms in total - will amaze visitors. This includes the largest floral garden, which covers 9,323 square meters! Bonsais that are over a century old will prompt respect from the young and old.

A 12,000-square-meter global garden presents exhibits by cities and gardening organizations from around the world.

High-tech displays throughout the expo will help guests learn about the complex lives of flowers and butterflies. Also, flora-inspired fashion shows will show how nature's beauty mixes with the fashion world.

The logo for the Taipei International Flora Expo looks like five dancing flower petals. Each petal flows with a pattem of moving lines, representing the joy and harmony of human celebrations and shared values. Each of the five logo colors -- blue, green, red, orange and purple - represents a different continent. The bright colors also hint at the cheerful atmosphere that will characterize the expo.
