The Top Of Europe

Experience the best of the Alps in Switzerland's Jungfrau Region

Anyone who has traveled through Europe no doubt recalls its impressive landmarks, museums and historic sites. While Switzerland boasts its share of those attractions, the country's spectaucular natural beauty is what attracts touists. The Jungfrau Region, with its breathtaking secenery, stands out as the most dramatic example of that beauty.

Located in central Switzerland, the Jungfrau Region draws over half a million tourists each year. The Alps' most famous trio- the Eiger, the Monch and the Jungfrau - dominates the area. These three massive snow - covered mountains and their surrounding valleys, waterfalls and lakes make the region an idyllic vacation destination.

The train ride of a lifetime
Trains and cable cars conveniently connect many of the region's villages, making it easy to see all the sights. At Kleine Scheidegg, a beautiful ski and hiking area, tourists board a cogwheel train for a thrilling climb to Jungfraujoch, Europ's highest railway station. After offering amazing glacier views, the train enters a 7.3 km mountain tunnel. As the train creeps upward, the railroad's engineering -a 16 year construction effort- fascinates tourists.
